In the continuation of a match on Friday, Commack ended Half Hollow Hills East’s undefeated season on Tuesday, downing the Thunderbirds 4-3.

With the overall score tied at 3-3, Emma Matz of Commack and Brynn April of Hills East continued their third singles match. Matz hung on to beat April 7-6(1), 2-6, 6-4, ending Hills East undefeated season and extending their own winning streak to start the year to seven.

Commack won all four of the singles matches, eighth-grader Kim Liao at first singles, senior Jackie Guidice at second singles, freshman Matz at third singles and senior Dara Danzinger at fourth singles, in this contest to come out on top.

The Cougars will take on Half Hollow Hills West next, while Hills East will visit Smithtown East.
