Jericho snuck past Port Washington 4-3 in Conference I action on Saturday afternoon to snap a three-match losing streak. The Jayhawks secured the victory with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 win by Rachel Hirschheimer over Sydney Levy at third singles.
The win moves Jericho to 2-5 on the year ahead of a home match against Locust Valley. Port Washington will host Great Neck South.
The Rebels of Great Neck South came up short in their match on Saturday as Roslyn beat them 5-2 in a Conference I matchup.
Leading the way for Roslyn was Jill Pion and Jordy Shenker as they defeated Parker Spector and Amanda Cohn 6-3, 6-3 at third doubles to anchor the victory.
Roslyn will play Friends Academy next.
Great Neck North remained perfect on the season with a 5-2 victory over Oyster Bay on Friday. The Blazers won all four of the doubles contests, most notably the third doubles match, as Sam Damaghi and Shoshanna Tokar came back from a set down to win 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Now sitting at 7-0, Great Neck North will play North Shore next. Oyster Bay will host Cold Spring Harbor.
New Hyde Park also remained unbeaten on the season, knocking off Valley Stream North 7-0 to move to 7-0. The first doubles duo of Abby Wizel & Priyanka Algu led the charge with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Lauren Fornells & Jessica Fornells at first doubles.
New Hyde Park will play Valley Stream Central next, while Valley Stream North will take on Valley Stream South.
Plainedge won its second consecutive match on Saturday, defeating Clarke 5-2 behind Kaitlin Byrnes at second singles. Byrnes defeated Lynn Koh 7-5, 6-2 to lead the way, as Gabriella Weir & Jess Barbieri beat Alexandra Cadiff & Kayla Borozny 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
The Red Devils take on Farmingdale next, as Clarke visits Mepham.
