Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Stony Brook celebrated their Senior Day on Wednesday afternoon, and in honoring its seniors, both programs notched victories over Hofstra.

The men won for the second straight time, downing the Pride 6-1. The Seawolves were anchored by its doubles play, going through the three flights dropping just five games on its way to securing the doubles point.

In singles, junior Raphael Termat defeated Hofstra’s Marcus Smith 6-2, 6-4 in the top singles spot, and the Seawolves would also win third, fourth, fifth and sixth singles to roll to the victory.

The women would also take care of Hofstra, winning the doubles point and sweeping all six singles matches for the 7-0 victory.

It was the two seniors who led the way in singles as Louise Badoche and Becky Shtilkind both rolled in their respective matches. Badoche beat Hofstra’s Ria Shah 6-0, 6-0 while Shitilkind won 6-0, 6-1 against Salini Jariwala.

Both teams will return to action on Saturday afternoon. The men will travel to take on Sacred Heart, while the women will host NJIT.
