The Lynbrook Owls continued to roll in Nassau’s Conference III-B, beating Mepham 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon for its fifth consecutive victory and sixth win in seven matches overall.

The Owls were led by its singles play on Tuesday. Ben Tetelman outlasted Pavel Gromov 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(6) at first singles, Azan Hussain beat Max Klein 6-2, 6-4 at second singles while Matt Moreida beat Thomas Shevins 6-3, 6-0 at the third singles spot to anchor the Lynbrook victory.

Rounding out the rest of the Lynbrook wins were its doubles tandems. Zack Leder and Sam Cohen defeated Jon Gaufman and Ray Limboy 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 at third doubles while Jaren Hausknecht and Josh Seltzer outlasted Dylan Jacobs and Matthew Spector 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 at fourth doubles to complete the Lynbrook victory.

The win improves Lynbrook to 9-3 on the season, a game out of first place in the Conference III-B standings behind Plainedge. The Red Devils beat Bethpage 5-2 in its match on Tuesday.

In Conference I action, Plainview JFK edged Great Neck North 4-3 in a tightly-contested match. It would come down to third doubles, and the Plainview duo of Zach Gorfinkel and Nick Dechiaro came back to beat Great Neck North’s Josh Rothbaum and Aaron Sheena 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the Plainview win.

Port Washington got past Great Neck South 5-2 in Conference I on Tuesday. The fourth doubles duo of Eric Fishbin and Rob Konoff clinched the match for Port Washington with a straight sets win over Shrinath Viswanathan and Kenny Huang.
