Carle Place edged Plainedge in a tight Conference III-A showdown on Tuesday afternoon, winning 4-3 thanks to a close victory at fourth doubles.

Searching for its first victory of the season, Katerina Zedlovich and Poojitha Seenivasan came up big for the Frogs, outlasting Cassandra Levy and Ashley Tudor of Plainedge 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 in the clinching match at fourth doubles.

Carle Place will travel to Farmingdale for its next match while Plainedge visits Baldwin.

The defending county champion Manhasset Indians continued to roll to open up its fall season, knocking off Cold Spring Harbor 5-2 on Tuesday.

Manhasset was led by Maddie Clinton who defeated Maddy Richmond 6-2, 6-4 at second singles to anchor the victory.

The Indians head to Port Washington for a big Conference I showdown on Wednesday, and Cold Spring Harbor will visit Great Neck North.
