Hofstra University announced the hiring of Jason Pasion to be the head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis teams.

Pasion was previously the head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis teams at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).

“I am very pleased to welcome Jason to the Hofstra family,” Hofstra University Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway told GoHofstra.com. “He did great things at NYIT in his two seasons with the Bears, and I look forward to him continuing his success here. Jason is a tremendous teacher of the game and I know our student-athletes will benefit from working with him.”

Pasion took the NYIT tennis programs to new heights in his couple of seasons at the helm, including winning back-to-back East Coast Conference (ECC) titles and a 2016 Elite 8 appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament on the men’s side, and back-to-back ECC titles and three straight appearances in the NCAA quarterfinals on the women’s side.

He won the ECC Coach of the Year for both the men’s and women’s teams in 2016.
