Great Neck North Wins Third Straight
  | By Long Island Tennis Magazine Staff

The Wantagh Warriors improved to 9-0 on Thursday, edging Valley Stream South 4-3 in a key Conference IV matchup.

Andrew Randazzo helped the cause with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at third singles, but it was the third doubles court that came up clutch for Wantagh. To clinch the match, Matt Pullman and John King shook off a tough first set to complete the 4-6(8), 6-4, 6-2 comeback against Judah Smith and Zach Bruno.

The match was key in terms of the Conference IV standings, and Wantagh provided itself with a little cushion and now sits two games ahead of the 7-2 Falcons of Valley Stream South.

Plainview JFK got back to .500 with a 5-2 win over Jericho in Conference I play. Ethan Treihaft and Sean Cohen won the deciding match for the Hawks, teaming up to beat Warren Wang and Hunter Lazare 7-6(5), 6-3 at third doubles.

Also in Conference I, Great Neck North edged Cold Spring Harbor 4-3 to win its third straight match following a 0-4 start. Luke Hakimian and Damien Chafe led the way for the Blazers with a comeback win at first doubles, fighting back from a set down to beat Thomas Campbell and Oscar Como 5-7, 7-6(2), 7-5.
