May 11, 2017 | By Long Island Tennis Magazine Staff

The regular season in Nassau County comes to a close this week as some teams play in its final match of the year while others prepare for next week’s playoffs.

One team that is certainly preparing for the playoffs is the Braves of Syosset, who continued its winning ways with a 7-0 victory over Cold Spring Harbor.

The clinching match came from first doubles as the senior-junior duo of Adam Canarick and Preet Rajpal defeated Thomas Campbell and Oscar Como 6-1, 7-5 to improve Syosset to 13-0 on the season, and stretch its winning streak to 47 straight over the last couple of years.

Also in Conference I, Great Neck North beat Friends Academy 7-0 behind the 6-3, 6-3 win from Jordan Greiff over Pius Lo at second singles.

Syosset and Great Neck North play on Thursday in the final regular season match for both squads.

Port Washington held firm in the third place spot in Conference I with a 6-1 triumph over Jericho.

Wantagh concluded its regular season undefeated after defeating Hempstead 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Doug Fuchs and Charlie Mazzer knocked off Anil Joy and John Spiller 6-2, 6-0 on the first doubles court, while Andrew Randazzo notched a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Rodolfo Tan at third singles.

The Chiefs of Massapequa ended its season on the winning track with a 6-1 win over Plainedge. It was the seniors who anchored the Massapequa victory, as Matthew Musalo and Jake Solik won their respective singles matches, while Dominick Catapano and Christopher Toma won in doubles.
