For the last two springs, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center has hosted the biggest grassroots tennis event in the country.

This event matches our country’s premier facility, named after a tennis pioneer who loves grassroots tennis, with a free event that has something for everyone. I cannot imagine a more perfect fit. Thousands of tennis fans and enthusiasts attend, including beginners, top players, college and high school teams, and Special Olympians.

Unfortunately, ongoing construction of the new stadium roof at the National Tennis Center prevents this event from returning this year, so I am marking my calendar for the return of the New York Tennis Expo next spring.

I cannot wait.
