The rain continued to fall on Long Island on Wednesday, but there were still many high school matches that were able to be played as Nassau County opened up its 2018 season and Suffolk County entered its second week of competition.

The South Side Cyclones began its season by edging Bellmore JFK 4-3. South Side jumped out a 3-1 lead, only to see Bellmore rally to even the score at 3-3.

But Emilia Fuentes and Lauryn Rose clinched the victory for the Cyclones with a 7-5, 6-7, 6-1 win at third doubles.
