This past weekend, the Eastern Athletic Club in Blue Point hosted the inaugural USTA Eastern Long Island Junior Team Tennis 10U Orange Ball tournament.

Players from five different Long Island clubs came out to play in this first-time event: Carefree Racquet Club, Eastern Athletic, Ross School Tennis Academy, Sportime Kings Park and World Gym Setauket. In all, there were six teams and 36 players competing.

And in the end, World Gym Setauket finished in first place, while Ross School Tennis Academy came in second. All players who competed received a JTT shirt, prizes, pizza and drinks.

“A special thanks goes out to Gary Gaudio and his Eastern Athletic team for hosting the event. Their efforts made it a fun event for all participants,” said Neil Thakur, USTA Eastern’s Long Island Tennis Service Representative. “We look forward to continuing to grow Junior Team Tennis on Long Island.”

The team from World Gym Setauket won the first ever USTA Eastern Long Island JTT 10U Orange Ball tournament.

Ross School Tennis Academy finished in second place.
