Last week, Northport native and current Ohio State freshman Cannon Kingsley was named the UTR/ITA National Player of the Week.

Kingsley, a former Suffolk County singles champion, helped lead his Buckeyes past Arizona State as he won his doubles match, and defeated Andrea Bolla in singles.

He followed that up by downing the top-ranked player in the nation, Daniel Cukierman of the University of Southern California in singles, and partnering with Kyle Seelig to win their doubles match as well.

Overall, Kingsley has posted a 15-2 record over Ohio State’s eight-match win streak.
