Smithtown East’s Anya Konopka defeated Andriana Zaphiris of Hauppauge 6-2, 6-1 to win the singles title; Commack's Emily & Kady Tannenbaum took the doubles crown.

 

The Suffolk County Division I Championships wrapped up on Monday at Smithtown East High School.

In singles, Smithtown East’s Anya Konopka defeated Andriana Zaphiris of Hauppauge 6-2, 6-1 to win the title.

The doubles title was won by Emily & Kady Tannenbaum of Commack. The sisters defeated Molly Malaby & Rachel Neuman of Hills East 6-0, 6-0.

Below are the top three finishers for both singles and doubles:

Singles

1) Anya Konopka (Smithtown East)

2) Andriana Zaphiris (Hauppauge)

3) Sydney Seid (Hills West)

 


Doubles

1) Emily Tannenbaum & Kady Tannenbaum (Commack)

2) Molly Malaby & Rachel Neuman (Hills East)

3) Ariel Dubler & Ashna Shetty (Hills East)

 


The four divisional tournaments feed into the County Individual Championships, which are set to begin this Thursday, April 22 at Shoreham-Wading River High School. The finals will be played on Saturday, April 24.
