Rafael Nadal advanced into the Round of 32 at the French Open Thursday afternoon, a straight-sets winner over Argentina’s Guido Pella, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.

With the win, Nadal extends his record to 81-2 on the clay courts of Roland Garros, needing just over two hours to dispatch Pella.

Nadal advances to face the hometown Richard Gasquet, an opponent Nadal has faced 15 times in their FedEx ATP Head2Head series, including a third-round match at Roland Garros in 2005. Nadal is a perfect 15-0 against Gasquet.

“I’m just going to get on the court and try to play a good match,” said Gasquet, who has not won a single set against Nadal in over a decade. “You have to be ready to play a good match, because you do want to do something. But I’m not going to think about it throughout the day and think he’s an incredible player … we all know it. I’ll try to play a good match.”

Nadal is seeking his 11th career title at the French Open.
