The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has named Patrick Galbraith its new board chairman and president, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Galbraith will succeed Katrina Adams, who served two consecutive terms, and was the first African-American as well as the first former professional player to serve as USTA President.

Adams will be the immediate past president for the next two years.

Galbriath has been on the USTA board in a number of roles for more than a decade, and will start his term on January 1, 2019.
