The Cold Spring Harbor Boys Varsity Tennis team won their third consecutive Long Island Championship on Wednesday, May 26, knocking off Suffolk County Boys Tennis Champions Half Hollow Hills East by a score of 6-1 at Smithtown East High School. Battling temperatures in the 90s and high humidity, the undefeated Cold Spring Harbor squad had their work cut out for them. It was a tough battle, but in the end, the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks team was able to pull out the win.

First singles player Josh Levine (a sophomore, who finished with an undefeated season at first singles) set the tone early for the Seahakws with a straight sets victory. In the end, CSH swept through the singles matches and their only blemish on the day was dropping third doubles. The matches were far from easy though, as four of the seven matches went to a third set before being decided. The win for Cold Spring Harbor capped off an undefeated season, finishing the 2010 campaign with a 16-0 mark. Coach Paul Poshman and the Cold Spring Harbor team were awarded a plaque after the match and there may be more hardware for the Seahawks on the horizon as a majority of the team will return for the 2011 season.

A full recap of the CSH-Half Follow Hills East match, along with additional photos of the match, will appear in the July/August 2010 edition of Long Island Tennis Magazinein the High School Boys 2010 Season Recap section.
