The United States will meet Italy in the World Group playoffs of the Fed Cup from April 18-19, as the ITF announced the draw for the World Group and World Group II playoffs on Tuesday.

The Americans and Italians are very familiar with each other, having met in the 2009 and 2010 finals, and have played four times in the last six years. The United States has not won in Italy in 16 years.

Venus and Serena Williams powered the Americans into this stage with a 4-1 victory over Argentina. On the flip side, Italy blew a 2-0 lead in its match against France, dropping the final three matches to fall 3-2.

The United States have the most Fed Cup titles with 17, but haven’t won one since 2000.
