Carefree Racquet Club to Host Rally for the Cure Doubles Event

North Merrick, N.Y.-based Carefree Racquet Club is hosting a Rally for the Cure Round Robin Doubles event, set for Thursday, April 9. Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program that works to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events.
The day’s activities will include round-robin tennis games, drills and hitting for prizes. Lunch will also be served. The cost is $40 per person and all proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the event and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items, plus a subscription to a select Condé Nast magazine, such as SELF, Golf Digest or Bon Appétit.
“We are proud to open our facility and host a Rally for the Cure event. The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members and the community to support an important cause, while playing a sport they are passionate about,” said Kathy Miller, manager of Carefree Racquet Club.
Since its start in 1996, the Rally program has touched more than million people with the important message that early detection and effective treatment saves lives. In addition to mobilizing people behind breast cancer awareness, Rally for the Cure events have generated more than $75 million for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
