Bob & Mike Bryan notched their 60th career victory at the French Open Thursday, downing Australian Open champions Simone Bolelli & Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-3 to reach the Men’s Doubles Finals at Roland Garros.
The top-seeds had to fight off an early break of serve to get themselves back into the opening set. The Americans responded with two breaks of their own to take back the break advantage and close out the first set.
In the second set, the top-ranked duo in the world nailed down two more breaks of serve and seized complete control of the match. Like they did in the first, they wrapped up the second set 6-3 to win the semifinal in under an hour.
Searching for their 17th Grand Slam title, the Bryan Brothers will take on third-seeds Ivan Dodig & Marcelo Melo, who ousted Jean Julien Rojer & Horia Tecau 6-3, 7-5 in Thursday’s other semifinal.
