Young Australian star Nick Kyrgios has split with coach Todd Larkham, as announced on his Web site Tuesday.

“I wanted to let you know that Todd Larkham and I have mutually agreed to end our professional relationship,” a statement on Kyrgios’ Web site reads. “It’s never an easy decision to end a coaching relationship and to do so prior to the start of a Grand Slam is even more difficult. But I feel that this is the right decision for me at this time. I will work closely with my team and Tennis Australia through Wimbledon and we will regroup after the tournament in order to figure out the best plan for the future.”

Kyrgios and Larkham worked together for seven years during Krygios’ junior career, and then rejoined the team after Kyrgios run to the quarterfinals at last year’s Wimbledon.

The 20-year-old will work with Tennis Australia coaches during Wimbledon and will seek a new coach following the third major of the season.

In his most recent match, Kyrgios lost 3-6, 4-6 to French Open champion Stan Wawrinka at the Aegon Championships.
