Kids Treated to the Stars at 2010 Arthur Ashe Kids Day

Kids swarmed the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday, Aug. 28 and they were treated to many forms of fun throughout the day from the world of tennis to the hottest pop stars. Around the grounds, there were many hosted activities, including face painting, a speed serve area, a Quick Start demonstration and more.
In addition, the top stars from the world of tennis were on hand as well, tuning up on the practice courts as they worked on their game prior to Monday’s start of the 2010 U.S. Open. The main event was a three-hour show inside Arthur Ashe Stadium featuring a mix of tennis and music.
The concert portion was headlined by the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. Tennis doubles stars The Bryan Brothers also performed and proved they are not only one of the best doubles teams ever, but also very talented musicians. Some of the game’s top stars took to the courts along with kids. They competed in a contest where they tried to hit targets on the court in an effort to raise money for charity. Andy Roddick, Melanie Oudin and Novak Djokovic all participated.
With great weather and tons of entertainment, the 2010 Arthur Ashe Kids Day was a great day at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and it was the perfect prelude to get the kids and fans excited for the official launch of the 2010 U.S. Open.
