Kyrgios Pushes Slammers Past Mavericks in IPTL

The OUE Sinagpore Slammers won all five sets against the Philippine Mavericks on Friday en route to a 30-22 record to improve to 3-3 in the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL).

After Belinda Bencic knocked off Ajla Tomljanovic 6-3 in the Women’s Singles set to give the Slammers a big advantage.
The top set of the afternoon came from the men’s doubles contest between Nick Kyrgios and Marcelo Melo as they took on Treat Huey and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. The set would go back and forth until Kyrgios and Melo finally outlasted Huey and Roger-Vasselin 7-5 in the tiebreaker.
To cap things off, Kyrgios would defeat Roger-Vasselin 6-5 (7-2) in the final Men’s Singles set.
“We had a great match today, winning all our sets,” said Kyrgios. “I love the IPTL, it’s a great format, and I really look forward to this time of the year. For me personally, it’s not difficult adjusting to the regular game when I go back on the tour. It’s just fine.”
