Massapequa Moves Past Mepham In Battle of Unbeatens

The Massapequa Chiefs improved to 7-0 on the season, knocking off fellow unbeaten team Mepham 6-1 in a Conference III-B showdown on Thursday afternoon.

Rebecca Price and Margaret Smith led the way for the Chiefs with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 triumph at third doubles over Victoria Sculley and Khanak Khanijow.

Massapequa has now dropped just six total matches in its seven team matches, and will take its undefeated record into a home matchup with Valley Stream Central on Friday afternoon.

The Rebels of Great Neck South won for the fourth time in five matches, defeating New Hyde Park 5-2 on Thursday to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Great Neck South was led by Amanda Cohn, who nailed down a 6-2, 6-3 victory at third singles.
