Syosset Wins 35th Straight; Beats Jericho To Begin Season

The two-time defending Nassau County champions won its 35th straight match on Wednesday, downing Jericho 7-0 in its season opener.

"It's always nice to start off with a win, especially with the minimal practice time that we've had due to the prolonged inclement weather," said Syosset head coach Shai Fisher. "I was very impressed with the chemistry of the doubles combinations and how all the players were able to adjust to the windy conditions."

The clinching match came on the third doubles court, as Josh Antell and Zach Chan beat Jericho’s Harrison Edelman and Hunter Lazare 7-6(4), 6-1.

Syosset returns to the court on Monday when it hosts Friends Academy.
