Tennis Hall of Famer John McEnroe, Patrick McEnroe, Lindsay Davenport, Mats Wilander and other tennis Legends will participate in the Johnny Mac Tennis Project’s (JMTP) Fourth Annual Pro-Am in the Hamptons on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The event will include a legends exhibition, rounds of doubles play, food and drinks, and a silent auction to raise funds to support JMTP programs that change young lives by removing the economic and social barriers to success through tennis.

“I am excited to get out to the Hamptons for another great Pro-Am event, and I’m even more excited about the support this event provides to further the Johnny Mac Tennis Project’s mission to make the experience of tennis possible for children and communities who wouldn’t otherwise have the chance—and maybe even to mint our next rising group of American tennis champions. There should be no barrier to a future champion coming from New York City, just like I did.” said John McEnroe. “We’re proud that we have been able to turn this annual Hamptons event into the largest Pro-Am event in the country, and this year once again we’ll be bringing 128 players—former pros, talented amateurs and recreational players—together for a fun, competitive day of tennis in support of a worthy cause.”

The JMTP Pro-Am will be held from 2:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at SPORTIME Amagansett. Participants will compete in a round-robin doubles tournament (up to seven rounds of approximately 15-20 minutes each) alongside former WTA and ATP World Tour professionals, current and former Division I College players, and top John McEnroe Tennis Academy pros. In total, there will be 64 professional players partnered with 64 amateurs.

The annual Pro-Am pairs amateur players with top talent and legendary tennis pros for an unforgettable afternoon of doubles matches. The event will also include an exclusive Benefactor Level, in which eight lucky amateurs will compete with and against tennis Legends and current and former ATP and WTA touring athletes. All Benefactors will get to play seven rounds of doubles against other Benefactor Pro-Am teams.

Immediately following the tennis event will be an After Party at a private residence for players, guests and fans hosted by Johnny Mac and friends. Dress will be casual and guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner, an open bar, live entertainment and dancing, a live auction and more.

“This Pro-Am has become a very special, annual event for our JMTP team. We have created the opportunity in the Hamptons, right before the U.S. Open, to allow participants to meet and mingle with tennis Legends, play and watch great tennis close-up, and, of course, support a wonderful program that’s really making a positive impact,” said Patrick McEnroe, who serves as President of JMTP’s Board of Directors. “The event is a lot of fun for everyone involved, but most importantly it allows us to continue expanding access to tennis.”
