The Olympic Games rolled on from Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday, as American Frances Tiafoe saw his singles run come to an end, while second-seed Naomi Osaka was ousted in the third-round.

Czech Republic’s Marketa Vondrousova upset Osaka 6-1, 6-4.

“I think this is one of the biggest [wins of my career], for sure,” Vondrousova told the ITF.

For Osaka, who hasn’t played since the French Open, she admitted afterwards she didn’t know how to handle the pressure. Osaka, competing for Japan, lit the Olympic torch at the Opening Ceremonies last week.

“I’ve taken long breaks before, and I’ve managed to do well. I’m not saying that I did bad right now, but I do know that my expectations were a lot higher,” she said. “I feel like my attitude wasn’t that great because I don’t really know how to cope with that pressure, so that’s the best that I could have done in this situation.”

On the men’s side, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas exacted revenge on American Frances Tiafoe by winning 6-3, 6-4 on Tuesday. Tiafoe had defeated Tsitsipas in the opening round of Wimbledon last month.
