The boys’ high school tennis season got underway this weekend with a couple of matches taking place in Suffolk County.
Hills East 6, Hills West 1
Jared Shulman & Jake Bornstein held on to win 7-5, 2-6, 10-6 to lead Hills East past crosstown rivals Hills West. Bryan Volk notched a straight sets victory at first singles for Hills West.
Smithtown East 6, Riverhead 1
Smithtown East got its season off to a strong start with a 6-1 victory over Riverhead. Timothy Schiraldi & Nikhil Mehta picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first doubles to lead the way.
