Summer Time

Every year tennis directors prepare their curriculum for summer, nervous about finding the right balance in the schedule: How much match play is enough? Are there too many drills? Not enough drills? How much off-court training should be done?

All these questions are important, and parents should ask all the questions they can to the directors of camps they’re interested in.  However, the reason players, pro’s, and director’s love summer camp… IT’S FUN!  Making new friends, seeing old ones and all this while playing tons of tennis – what a great time.  Towards the end of every summer when I talk to players and parents about their experience from the last few weeks, everyone talks about the fun they had with the other players, the trip to the World Team Tennis Event or “the day we got Ralph’s Italian Ices!!!”

The truth is that summer tennis camp offers the best way to get hours on court, at a fantastic value.  It allows for hours of drills, great tips and useful match play, Just don’t be surprised if by summer’s end you or your child has more friends, great social experiences and a tan!

See you on the courts this summer.
