False Start

Usta.com reports that "six of the brightest products of the QuickStart play format shined on center court inside Madison Square Garden" on Monday, February 28.

I agree that these kids are absolutely great. The level of younger players is astounding; age 8 is the new age 10 in playing level. They are not "products of the QuickStart play format" however, unless you consider a few practices out of hundreds, the defining events of these player’s experience.

I like QuickStart as a beginner development tool, but the jury is still out as to whether it is a valuable format for the best players.

I don’t like made up results however, and by spinning the facts on QuickStart, the USTA indicates that they are perhaps not so confident about its value for top tier talent either.
