U.S. Open Ballperson Tryouts Set for June 23 at Billie Jean King National Tennis Center

On Thursday, June 23, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center will hold its annual ballperson tryouts for the 2011 U.S. Open. USTA is seeking enthusiastic and athletic people to suit up on the sidelines. Get ready to have the experience of a lifetime as an active part of the 2011 U.S. Open! USTA is putting 80 sought-after positions as ballpersons for the 2011 U.S. Open up for grabs. Prospective ballpersons will be evaluated by U.S. Open officials on their running, throwing and catching skills. Polo Ralph Lauren is the official outfitter of the U.S. Open ballpersons.

Want to be on the court at the the biggest American tennis extravaganza of the summer? USTA is looking for energetic tennis fans ages 14 and over to be a vital part of the action at this Grand Slam event as an official U.S. Open ballperson! Below you will find the important details concerning the tryout and what to expect if selected for duty at the 2011 US Open.

First, please review our Ballperson Tryouts Waiver Release (PDF). Take the time to read carefully and fill out all the required fields. Anyone under 18 and not attending with a parent or legal guardian must complete the attached waiver in advance and bring it with them on June 23.

Registration for General Public Tryouts begins at 3:00 p.m., followed by the evaluation process that is set to begin at approximately 4:00 p.m., after a welcome by U.S. Open Ballperson Director Tina Taps.
