In light of the weather forecast regarding Hurricane Irene, and in order to avoid any possible safety issues to fans and patrons, many of whom would have been arriving on-site with young children, the USTA has announced the cancelation of the 2011 Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day. This decision also follows discussions held between the USTA and New York City officials. The event was scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. This cancellation covers both the free ground activities scheduled for the morning, and the ticketed Stadium show that was scheduled for 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. The USTA’s inclement weather policy for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day will be in effect, and can be viewed at www.arthurashekidsday.com.

CBS plans to air a highlights show featuring the best of previous Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day performances along with select pre-taped elements from 2011 on Sunday, Aug. 28 from Noon-1:30 p.m. ET.
