Dr. Allen Berger and Jim Klein have created a unique opportunity for student athletes to integrate into their play an understanding of both the laws of physics that apply to tennis and the psychological laws of optimal performance.
This intensive week of instruction and training will consist of both on-court and off-court instruction. Participants will learn to:
â–ºApply an understanding of the laws of physics to help play better tennis and generate better on court strategies.
â–ºUse the time when not engaged in playing a point to enhance performance (we call this between point psychology).
â–ºCompete with a relaxed intensity.
â–ºIncrease self-awareness and use this information to perform better.
â–ºManage anxiety or anger to keep negative emotions from interfering with or diminishing performance.
â–ºApply cognitive agility, creativity, and flexibility to cope with challenging moments on and off the court.
â–ºKeep perfectionism from interfering with optimal performance.
►Focus on what you can control during a match instead of expending energy trying to control things you can’t.
â–ºDevelop attitudes and behaviors that enhance athletic performance.
This is a unique opportunity for a select group of competitive junior players to enhance their tennis skills. Therefore, the camp will be limited to 12 players to ensure a high level of individualized instruction.
