Long Island Boys’ High School Recap: Wednesday, May 13

The Nassau County playoffs continued on Tuesday, with the quarterfinals of the Large School (Division 1) and semifinals of the Small School (Division 2) being played.
Nassau County Small School (Division 2)
Wheatley 5, Locust Valley 0
Michael Sethi & Noah Gee won 6-3, 6-4 at second doubles as Wheatley won its semifinal over Locust Valley, and set up a showdown with Cold Spring Harbor in the Nassau County Small School (Division 1) Championship against Cold Spring Harbor.Â
Cold Spring Harbor 3, North Shore 2
Cold Spring Harbor won all three doubles flights, including a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 comeback from Gavin Monge & Sebastian Mayer at second doubles. The Seahawks advance to the Nassau County Small School (Division 2) Championship against Wheatley.Â
Nassau County Large School (Division 1)
Syosset 5, Great Neck North 2
Daniel Kim & Jameson Yang held on to win 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 at fourth doubles to seal Syosset’s trip to the semifinals.Â
Port Washington 6, Manhasset 1
Keita Iwata won 6-3, 7-6(5) at first singles to clinch the wind or Port Washington as the Vikings also won three of the four doubles flights. Port Washington faces Syosset for a spot in the Nassau County Large School (Division 1) final.Â
Roslyn 4, Friends Academy 3
Bartek Dziedziach was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at third singles to lead the way for Roslyn. The Bulldogs will travel to Jericho to play the Jayhawks for a spot in the Nassau County Large School (Division 1) final.Â
Jericho 5, Plainview-Old Bethpage 2
At first singles, Preston Wang won 6-1, 6-2 to power Jericho’s quarterfinal victory. Jericho moves into the Nassau County Large School (Division 1) semifinals against Roslyn.
