Long Island Region Collects Clothing to Help Tennis Players in Need

Local tennis players are encouraged to start cleaning out their closets and removing unused and unwanted tennis clothing. Beginning on Jan. 15, the USTA Eastern Long Island Region will be collecting new and gently used tennis clothing to help athletes in need.
The new community service initiative will take place for one month, and all club members and member organizations are urged to help. Most Nassau and Suffolk tennis clubs will be setting up on-site locations to will be collecting donations of new and gently used tennis clothing to be given to tennis players in need. All donations will be given to tennis players from the Shinnecock Indian Nation and the Community School in Westbury operated by United Way of Long Island.
Any gently used tennis attire for men, women and kids, in all sizes, is welcomed, as is new clothing. The following clubs will be setting up collection sites:
