The USTA Eastern Long Island Region has announced the launch of a quarterly digital newsletter created to improve and expand communication among all of the region’s members and member organizations, and to celebrate members’ achievements both on and off the court. Called “On the Ball: News From LI," each issue will focus on news about what’s going on in local clubs, schools, parks or any other tennis courts.
"The USTA Eastern Long Island Region encourages its members to contribute news and information that they want to see in print,” said Daniel Burgess, president of the USTA Eastern Long Island Region.
The newsletter’s first issue features a profile of Ellen Siddiqui of Long Beach Tennis Center, a look at the upcoming boys high school tennis season in Nassau County, a description of the Competition Training Centers for juniors and more. To contribute news or suggest profile and feature stories, and to subscribe to the newsletter, please e-mail ustaonlongisland@gmail.com. In addition, one lucky reader of the first issue will receive an hour of court time just for reading.
