Former world number one-ranked Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark has announced that she will be returning this August to Connecticut for the 2012 New Haven Open. Currently ranked sixth in the world, Wozniacki has never lost in New Haven and won last year’s championship without dropping a set. A win this year would push her past Venus Williams for the most titles in New Haven. Williams won four times between 1999 and 2002.

The New Haven Open was the final tune-up before the U.S. Open, also received commitments in the last week from the world’s number four-ranked player, Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland and American Christina McHale.
