Azarenka Maintains Hold on Top Spot of WTA Rankings
Russia’s Maria Sharapova moved up to world number two in the latest WTA rankings after winning the silver medal on Saturday at the 2012 London Olympics. Winning the bronze medal in London, Belarussian Victoria Azarenka holds world number one ranking. Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska fell to number three when she was defeated in the first round of the Olympics. With only 800 points from the world number one, Olympic Gold Medal winner Serena Williams from the United States is moving closer to the top three.
