Today will begin the Quarterfinal round of both the mens and womens tournaments. On the mens side the big question is how Novak Djokovic will bounce back mentally when he faces 5th seeded Tomas Berdych. Djokovic, who is coming off a 5 hour epic win against Stanilas Wawrinka in the 4th round will need to be on his game as Berdych poses a serious threat. Berdych who was a semifinalist at the U.S. Open has been playing well of late, but he will need to play his best match to knock off he world number one. The other mens Quarter will see Spain’s David Ferrer, also a semifinalist at the U.S. Open taking on fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro who defeated 8th seeded Janko Tipsarevic in the 4th round.

In the womens bracket second seeded Maria Sharapova who has breezed through her matches so far, will face 19th seeded Ekaterina Makarova who upset 5th seeded Angelique Kerber in the 4th round. Sharapova is heavily faced to win this all-Russian match and advance to the semifinals. In the other womens Quarter to be played today, 4th seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland will face 6th seeded Na Li of China. Radwanska defeated Ana Ivanovic in the 4th round, while Na Li defeated Julia Goerges to make the Quarters.
