Sara Errani reached her second final of the season at the 2013 Dubai Championships, defeating her doubles partner Roberta Vinci 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the finals. Errani will face 2011 Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in the finals, after Kvitova defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-3, 6-4.
"I just tried to play my game, tried to be as solid as I could," said Errani of playing her doubles partner. "It’s tough because we know each other very well and know how each other plays, so I had to do what she didn’t think I would do. It’s very difficult to play against someone who knows what you’re going to do in every shot."
Errani reached the final of the Open GDF Suez this month, but lost to the unseeded Mona Barthel of Germany. She advanced to the finals of the French Open last year, dropping the match 3-6, 2-6 to Maria Sharapova. Errani & Vinci are currently the world number one ranked women’s team atop the WTA rankings.
Kvitova has won all three of their previous meetings with Errani in straight sets.
