Add Agnieszka Radwanska to the list of top seeded women ousted in week one of the 2014 French Open. Radwanska, seeded third at Roland Garros, fell to Ajla Tomljanovic 6-4, 6-4 on Friday, joining the top-seeded Serena Williams and second seeded Li Na on the sidelines. Coming into 2014, Radwanska had never been beyond the quarterfinals at Roland Garros, and was looking to take advantage of a wide open women’s draw with the eliminations of the top two seeds earlier in the week.

Tomljanovic had only beaten one top 30 player in her career before her win over Radwanska, having beaten former French Open champ Francesca Schiavone and the 32nd seed Elena Vesnina in rounds one and two. She now moves into the fourth round where she will face Carla Suárez Navarro, who ended American Taylor Townsend's run with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

"After seeing the two first seeds go out, you kind of feel like I can do this, too," Tomljanovic said. "I grew up with these girls that are beating them. I went out there and I really thought I could win. I think that showed and it is why I got over the line."

Another top 10 seed was defeated Friday, as the ninth seeded Dominika Cibulkova fell to Australian Samantha Stosur, 4-6, 4-6. Stosur, a finalist at Roland Garros in 2010, maintains her perfect record over Cibulkova, having never dropped a set against her in five career meetings.

"It's very pleasing. I'm really happy with the way I played today and I think it's the first time I won three matches in a row for a while, too," Stosur said. "And to keep playing well, you know, when your opponent is putting you under pressure at certain times in the match, it's really amazing to come out of those as well.”

In the Round of 16, Stosur will face Maria Sharapova, who earned a very one-sided 6-0, 6-0 win over Paula Ormaechea. Sharapova defeated Stosur just weeks ago on clay in Madrid.

“My next opponent is Samantha Stosur, who’s had a lot of success on these courts and loves playing on clay … so that’s my next challenge and I look forward to it,” said Sharapova.
