On Day 14 of the 2013 U.S. Open, a winner will be crowned in the women’s singles draw, as the top-seeded Serena Williams will, for the second consecutive year, face the number two seed, Victoria Azarenka at Arthur Ashe Stadium Sunday afternoon. Overnight rain showers will give way to partly sunny skies on Sunday as temperatures are expected to hit the upper-70s in Flushing Meadows. In addition to the women’s singles final, the remainder of the U.S. Open winners, with the exception of the men’s singles title, will be determined as this year’s event comes to a near-end.

Last year, it was Serena who came back from 5-3 down in the final set to beat Azarenka in the finals of the 2012 U.S. Open and capture her 15th major title and fourth at the U.S. Open, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. Serena has rolled over the competition so far this year at the Open.

“I’m definitely mortal. And yeah, I do struggle with self-doubt,” said Serena. “Sometimes when I’m in a match, I do get tight and nervous … I never feel invincible.”

"The battles we’ve had, it was just really taking each other out of the most comfortable zone and fight for everything," Azarenka said. "We know each other pretty well. I know her strengths, she knows mine."

Serena holds a 12-3 career lifetime record over Azarenka, but Azarenka has won two of their last three meetings, including the Western & Southern Open just last month in Cincinnati.

Kicking things off at Ashe on Sunday, it will be the Men’s Doubles Final pitting the fourth-seeded Leander Paes of India & Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic facing the second-seeded team of Alexander Peya & Bruno Soares. Paes & Stepanek scored perhaps the biggest upset of the Open so far when on Thursday afternoon, the duo defeated the top-seeded team of Bob & Mike Bryan, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The juniors will also determine both their girls and boys 2013 champs as on Court 11, it will be the unseeded American Tornado Alicia Black facing the number two seed Ana Konjuh of Croatia for the girls title, and on Court 7, the boys singles winner will be determined when the fourth-seeded Borna Coric of Croatia faces the unseeded Austrian Thanasi Kokkinakis.
