2026 Australian Open Men’s Singles Semifinals: Alcaraz vs. Zverev…Sinner vs. Djokovic

The semifinals of the Men’s Singles draw at the 2026 Australian Open are set, and will be played late Thursday night here in the United States. It’s been all chalk on the men’s side with the top four seeds being represented in the semifinals.Â
(1) Carlos Alcaraz vs. (3) Alexander Zverev

Carlos Alcaraz is into the first Australian Open semifinals of his career, and has been on a mission thus far in Melbourne. He has yet to drop a set, and is coming off a 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 drubbing of the hometown Alex de Minaur. The world number one, and six-time major champion, is in search of the career Grand Slam.Â

Over the last couple of years, Alexander Zverev has been a mainstay late in majors, and that is no different at this year’s Australian Open. He is looking to reach the final in Melbourne for the second straight year, and his fourth major final overall. Zverev has been pushed so far, dropping the first set he played in the tournament, and losing a set in four of his matches.Â
Alcaraz and Zverev have split their previous 12 meetings, with Alcaraz winning three of the five that were played on hard courts.Â
(2) Jannik Sinner vs. (4) Novak DjokovicÂ

In search of his third straight Australian Open title, Italy’s Jannik Sinner will have to move past 10-time Aussie Open champion Novak Djokovic. Sinner has become a powerhouse on hard courts, and is coming off a clinical victory over top-ranked American Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals. He holds a 22-4 record in his career in Melbourne, and will look to continue his blistering play against Djokovic.
For Djokovic, it has been a strange journey to this year’s semifinals. In the Round of 16, he received a walkover when Jakub Mensik withdrew. Then, in the quarterfinals, he was down two-sets-to-love to Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti, before the Italian had to retire with a leg injury. That catapulted Djokovic into the semifinals and into a matchup with Sinner. At 38-years-old, having an abridged path to this point can work out to Djokovic’s benefit as he looks to topple the two-time defending champion.Â
Sinner leads the head-to-head with Djokovic 6-4, winning both of the hard court matches.
