On March 18, 7 For All Mankind Jeans sponsored a fraternity ping pong tournament hosted by Bloomingdale’s of Roosevelt Field and Long Island Tennis Magazine was on-hand to distribute free magazines to all attendees and support the event and the local participants by supplying press coverage. The tournament was held between the Hofstra’s Sigma Alpha Sigma and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternities.

“We came out to raise money for good causes and in fact have some competitive ping pong players within our fraternity”, said President Greg McConney of Sigma Alpha Sigma. Along with the match play, Bloomingdales provided complimentary snacks and beverages for all players and spectators.

Intense rounds were played by all and the Sigma Alpha Sigma fraternity came out on top winning the $700 donation from 7 For All Mankind to the National Children’s Leukemia Foundation.

“We are a group of unique guys who believe in friendship, shivery, and service, and the service to the community is what brings us out today,” said McConney.

“It was great fun for all, we raised money for the American Cancer Society: Relay for Life charity and it gives us a jumpstart our fundraising initiatives” said Sal Sanca, president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity did not go home empty-handed as Alexandra Karcev, public relations director of Bloomingdales, announced that they would receive a $100 donation to their charity compliments of Bloomingdales.

To wrap up the event, Missy Mazelon of 7 For All Mankind said, “We are glad to give back to charities in fun ways by incorporating the philanthropies of local fraternities.”
