The Adelphi Panthers moved to 10-0 on the season over the weekend, defeating the Saint Anselm Hawks 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis Center.

The Panthers won all three of the doubles matches to set the tone for the match, led by the freshman and sophomore pair of Elizabeth Kallenberg & Samantha Perri, who beat Jess Perkins & Meg Golden 8-3 at first doubles.

The singles flights held up their end as well, winning five of the six matches, anchored by Samantha Perri’s 6-0, 6-0 win over Leah Fitzgerald.

Adelphi will take its undefeated record on the road to Albany when it faces off with the College of Saint Rose on Wednesday.

Also played at the Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday, Queens College defeated LIU Post 6-3 in an East Coast Conference showdown.

The Pioneers of LIU Post got out to the early 3-2 lead after senior Didi Fatchikova won her match at second singles, but the Queens College Knights rallied to win the final four flights, led by Angelika Sobiecka & Cami Abdallah, who knocked off freshman Shanice Arthur & junior Heena Kewalramani 8-3.

LIU Post drops to 3-4 on the season, and will play Concordia College in its next contest on Thursday. Queens College will host Post College on Thursday.
