Alan King Pro-Am Event Set for Aug. 29th

On Sunday, Aug. 29, the 2010 Alan King Pro-Am Tennis Tournament, benefiting the Wheelchair Sports Federation, will take place at the Shelter Rock Country Club, located at 100 Long Island Expressway in Manhasset, N.Y. beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Hosted by Morris S. Levy, the event will feature a number of the sport’s past legends. Confirmed for the 2010 Alan King Pro-Am are Guillermo Vilas, Gigi Fernandez, Virginia Wade, Stan Smith and doubles legends, the Jensen Brothers. Should the weather be inclement, the event location will move to the Port Washington Tennis Academy, located at 100 Harbor Road in Port Washington, N.Y.
Organized by Tournament Chairman Peter Fishbach, along with Tournament Directors Robin Deitth-Nogrady and Dean Nogrady, and Tournament Manager Russ Heier, proceeds from the event will benefit the Wheelchair Sports Federation. The Wheelchair Sports Federation is a national non-profit that provides opportunities for disabled and wheelchair-bound adults and youth to play sports recreationally and competitively. The Wheelchair Sports Federation is one of the first organizations to provide adaptive athletes with the opportunity to participate in a multitude of adaptive sports.
