ATP Stars Fall to Ft. Lauderdale Strikers in Charity Soccer Exhibition

The Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, a team in the North American Soccer League, beat the ATP World Tour All-Stars by a score of 4-2 in a 40-min. charity football Hope Match for Japan on Wednesday evening at Ranson Everglades School in Miami.

Marcos Baghdatis, voted the ATP Stars’ most valuable player, and Andy Murray scored goals for the ATP World Tour All-Stars, which was led by team captain and world number two-ranked Novak Djokovic. A total of 17 ATP World Tour stars took part, including world number one-ranked Rafael Nadal and Japan’s Kei Nishikori.

The charity match raised funds for the American Red Cross’ relief efforts in Japan, which has been impacted by a recent natural disasters. The match was followed by a gala dinner which also sought to raise funds.
