Commack’s Liao Takes Home Suffolk Division I Title

The unbelievable 2015 season for the Commack Girls Tennis team continued this week, as eighth-grader Kimberly Liao won the Suffolk County Division I Individual Tennis Tournament, beating Huntington’s Emily Shutman 6-0, 6-3 in the finals at Smithtown East High School.
“Kimberly is one of the most disciplined, dedicated and determined players that I have ever met. She is mature beyond her years,” said Commack Head Coach Jackie Clark. “Her work ethic is tremendous and she is a true team player who always goes above and beyond to support her teammates. Most importantly, she demonstrates honesty and integrity. I am so proud of her.”
Along with Liao, Jackie Guidice will also represent undefeated Commack in the county tournament. Guidice finished fourth in the Division I tournament, falling to Hills East’s Stephanie Chikvashvili in the third-place match.
