The defending Australian Open champion, Kim Clijsters of Belgium, has moved on to the fourth round of the 2012 Australian Open with a commanding 6-3, 6-2 victory over Daniela Hantuchova. In the next round, she will face Li Na of China, the 2011 French Open champion, and Clijsters’ opponent in the finals of the 2011 Australian Open.

Clijsters has only had one loss out of the last 10 matches against Hantuchova, last month in Brisbane at an Australian Open warm-up event. The loss was due to Clijsters withdrawing from play with a hip injury which shows that she has never lost a match that was play completely through against Hantuchova.
