Defending Champ Murray Rolls Into Wimbledon Third Round

Defending champion Andy Murray looks ready to defend his crown if his first two matches are any indication. After rolling past Belgium’s David Goffin in straight sets in the first round, Murray followed it up by steamrolling past Blaz Rola of Slovenia 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 on Wednesday.
The match was never in doubt as Murray dominated the Slovenian who was making his Wimbledon debut. It was a near-perfect performance for the third-seeded Brit, breaking Rola’s serve eight times while saving the only three break points he faced.
He only committed 13 unforced errors and dismantled the 23-year old who had very little grass-court experience. Murray is seeking to become the first British player to win back-to-back Wimbledon crowns in 77 years, and will continue that bid in the third round on Friday.
Awaiting him in the third round is either 27th seeded Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain or Jan Enrych of the Czech Reoublic, who were in action Wednesday.
