Roger Federer moved into the fourth round of the 2015 French Open for the 11th straight year on Friday, downing world number 88-ranked Damir Dzumhur 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.

"I'd never played him before, he moves well … he's very quick. I didn't know him and I didn't know how he'd play on the key points," said Federer, the 2009 French Open champ. "Mentally, I'm not always as relaxed as people might think, there is so much at stake.”

In the Round of 16, Federer will face the winner of Friday afternoon’s match between the 13th-seeded Gael Monfils or the 21st-seeded Pablo Cuevas.

Also advancing Friday was the number eight seed, Stan Wawrinka, after his 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 victory over American Steve Johnson. So far in his 2015 French Open campaign, Wawrinka has knocked out Marsel Ilhan in straight sets, only dropping eight games over the three sets, and defeating Dusan Lajovic in four sets.

“After the first set, things went quite smoothly; I was a little nervous in the first set,” said Wawrinka. “I hesitated on a few points. I think I was sort of watching, because I didn't really know what to expect.”

Up next for Wawrinka is Gilles Simon, the winner in Friday’s all-French matchup over Nicolas Mahut 6-2, 6-7(6), 7-6(6), 6-3, 6-1. Simon is into the Round of 16 at Roland Garros for the third time over his career.

“Gilles is always a tough player; he's difficult to handle," Wawrinka said. "You have to be aggressive and really catch opportunities when they're there.”
